Hi there Folks and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Well, after many years of watching from the sofa i have finally managed to secure a spot on next Years' London Marathon through Plantlife. Having undertaken other triathlon events and completed a few Half Marathons, it is time to take on the toughest of them all and pound the streets of London for 26 miles.
April 2010 may seem like a while away, but time flies by and it will be upon us before we know it. In the time between now and then I will be updating you on how the training is going and also advising of any warm up races I will be doing if you want to come and cheer me along. Depending how well the training goes I may even suggest including a bonus box on the sponsorship form if I finish within a certain time - you agree to donate a little bit more. Sound fair ?
Attemping to run 26 miles will be no easy feat and even as a regular runner I am under no illusion of how hard the training will be and the sacrifices I will need to make. So please dig deep and donate now - every penny counts.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
The charity I will be running for is Plantlife. You may not of heard of them before but Plantlife is the leading charity dedicated to protecting wild plants and their habitats. Wild plants in Britain are under threat from things such as extensive farming, habitat destruction, climate change and pollution. Plants provide the very basis to all life on Earth, food, medicine, fresh air and a clean and healthy environment all rely on plants, wildlife and stable ecosystems. By sponsporing me, you are direcltly helping to protect the riches of our wild plant inheritance and ensure a healthy environment for future generations.
Many Thanks in anticipation of your generosity and I look forward to hopefully seeing some of you on the finish line !
Best Wishes
Brad
