Hello!!

I am climbing Mt.Kilimanjaro later this year on the August 15th, reaching the summit on the 22nd!! I am doing it to raise money for the James Hopkins Trust, a charity very close to my heart.

I have a little brother, aged 3 called Zach, and he suffers from an extremely rare condition called Dandy Walker Syndrome, which means that he has a section of his brain missing - the cerebellum; an important part which controls speech and movement. He is determined to learn to walk and talk like his older siblings.

The James Hopkins Trust helps us by taking him off our hands [family] and giving us time to collect ourselves and to relax. Because of his inquisitive and energetic nature, he demands our undivided care and attention 24/7.

I am 17, and am currently doing my A-levels at Cheltenham Bournside School & Sixth Form Centre.

Mt.Kilimanjaro has a height of 19,308ft, making it the worlds tallest free-standing mountain, and giving me the rare opportunity to experience all of the climates the world has to offer in their extremities. With a sweltering rainforest at the foot of the mountain, and then bare windswept rock, otherwise known as an alpine desert. At the summit, there is far-reaching views, and a inhabitable temperature of -30 degrees celsius. All of this means that altitude sickness will be just waiting to creep in, which if the symptoms are ignored, can be fatal. The only way to prevent this, is to be as fit as a fiddle, and so to do this, i have put myself on a strict regime. I am now running four times a week, and weight-training three times a week at my local gym.

The James Hopkins Trust is currently fundraising to build a conservatory on the back of their dining room, at their purpose-built nursing respite centre, and only need £10,000 to complete the fundraising, and to let construction start. Lets make it happen, and give these children what they really deserve.

So please sponsor me now!
