I committed to this run to raise money for PIA without reallly understanding Primary Immunodeficiency and how it impacts the lives of those affected.... it just seemed like a good idea to do a fun run/walk with friends.
However since reading more about the charity I have come to understand the good work they do and reading the individual stories made me want to raise money to potentially make some difference especially for the children that are affected. The most touching part for me is to think how awful I would have felt to be have been unable to run about as a child and enjoy long summer days. Having just spend two weeks in Ireland & in the house where I spent a lot of my childhood, I was reminded of the freedom we had to run about & play. For these children to be constrained by their condition and have to miss out on some of the fantastic memories I have makes me want to make a difference no matter how little. Please help me to make this little difference!!
I may not get to run the course as per usual I am somewhat unprepared but I will finish it so I look forward to the charity receiving your donation. Also do remember to tick the gift aid bok so we maximise the benefit!!
