My story

We did it! Nathan absolutely thrashed me with 118th place (1hr 20mins). I (matt) survived and came 207th with 1hr 45 mins but after the finish line I could hardly walk due to my dodgy knees.

It was definitely worth it. Thank you ever so much for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep to sponsor us online.

What are we raising money for?

We ran the Geoff Moulden Wimbledon 10 mile road race to raise money for CMF's student ministries, both here and abroad. Below is a list of great projects that CMF is involved in, but which need extra money in order to keep going.

Evangelism training – CMF runs excellent 'Confident Christianity' evangelism training day conferences in Universities across the UK each year. This course trains and equips Christian students to evangelise to their peers, equipping them with basic apologetic skills and the knowledge they need to meet face-to-face the main objections which people have to the gospel. Over several years these days have helped train thousands of students to share their faith in words people understand, in an environment they feel comfortable and with the opportunity for discussion.

Supporting CMFs in developing countries – CMF members are hugely privileged to have excellent medical training and solid support from a well-organised CMF. Many countries don’t have that, so CMF spends significant time and effort sharing our resources through summer teams, through our international students’ preconference (a week for handpicked student leaders in conjunction with our national students’ conference), and through the activities and events of the International Christian Medical and Dental Association (ICMDA).

Student leadership – Students are the future of medical practise, so CMF invests a huge amount of time and resources in supporting their student membership. They need money to continue running the student leaders’ conference, (for new leaders of CMF groups) and to subsidise travel for the national students’ committee, that in its first year of operation has already played a big part in taking CMF’s student ministry forward.

Why are we doing it?

Because this is not just about getting money for an organisation – it’s about helping CMF make disciples of Jesus in the medical world!
