Story

Te Enham Kilimanjaro Challenge 2008

We all have our Mountains to climb - THEY DID IT!

Disability charity Enham are thrilled to announce that three of our clients summated Mount Kilimanjaro!  Congratulations go to Alex Adams, James Smith and James Bridges on this phenomenal achievement.

Other members of the team to summit were James' buddy, Bryan Magee, Hans and Herta Von Stiegel, Bryan Magee, Luke Purse, Doctors Chris and Laura, Morgan Roy and also Greg, Kyle, Michael, Gordon and Kate from the film team.

Up there with them were members of Enham staff.  Susie Snudden made it to the top and within a whisper of the summit were Claire Holt, Jane McFarlane, Sheila Oldacre, Dr Jack and Saudi climbers Ali and Ahmed who all must be feeling literally on top of the world.  Expedition leader Steve Ballantyne has said how immensely proud he is to be part of the climb and that it ranks amongst the best expedition he has ever taken part in.

Altitude sickness and raw feet took their toll; but Bryans brother Jamie Magee (watch the video left of Jamie being sung down the mountain by the porters) Pauline Griffin, Liz Curtis, Michael Steel and Val Bradshaw reached the dizzy heights of 14,000 feet before they succumbed.  This is the height that tandem parachutists jump from so they are all to be congratulated at this amazing feat.
