Well here I am returned from the Canyon and have to say what an AWESOME experience!  We had great FUN and now the serious bit....I have to say that during the time down in the Canyon I remembered all the events and brought to mind all the people who contributed to the Children's Adventure Farm Trust through me and how important their donation was.  As a group we thought about the incredible work of the farm and how our support was so desperately needed.

Thankyou all for making it possible for me to challenge myself along the way too!!

If you are looking at this page and have not yet sponsored me take a look at the info about the Farm and get on with it!!

WE'VE MADE OUR TARGET £3000 AND MORE RAISED THANK YOU TO EVERYONE INVOLVED

BUT PLEASE DON'T STOP NOW

THIS PAGE IS OPEN UNTIL DECEMBER

SO IF YOU HAVE PROMISED TO SPONSOR ME OR WOULD JUST LIKE TO MAKE SURE THAT THIS CHALLENGE RAISES AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE -

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!

Two more cheques on the way today one from the dress down day and one from the tombola and some bits and bobs of sponsorship I have been collecting for a week or two.  Great fund raising at the office once more they have been great!  £121 from dressing down!!!

Hi Everyone just added the princely sum of £389.50 from Emma & Gareth Roberts who took part in the London sprint triathlon recently and have kindly donated all their sponsor ship to the Children's Adventure Farm Trust through the Grand Canyon Caper Fantastic and that certainly takes me almost to my target.  At the office this week we have had our "relaxing" tombola very well supported and a dress down day but as I was unable to be there I am not sure how much the dress down day made I know the tombola made over £50 will update later.  Fanastic news Thanks to all my supporters.

3 weeks into the "Drop a dress size" and feeling a real desire to do more walking I walked miles and miles at the weekend!  I am now thinking I will eat some pasta to ensure that I have some extra calories to burn in the Canyon!  Looking forward to it actually.

Today I raised £68.30 with a "relaxing" tombola (pix to follow) at the office and I hope to gather a little more into the coffers on Friday with my "final" dress down day before the Canyon.  I have also been sponsored to wear the shirt of one of our popular Italian restaurants (ASK) here in Warrington £50 and my dining friend paid for lunch so that my share went into the pot!!  This fundraising could become as addictive as Argentinian tango which is certainly helping with my "Drop a dress size" challenge.  Thanks to Dorothy my stalwart supporter for her help in today's event.

To prevent complete breakdown after the wonderful Grand Canyon I will be completing the 153 mile challenge using my pedometer readings from the Grand Canyon just to help me wind down graduallly.

1 August joined "drop a dress size in four weeks" to help remain focussed on the fitness for the Canyon.  Made valuable link with local paper re the health based initiative plus the Canyon Caper should be profitable all round  Hopefully weekly updates in local press!

8 August spent weekend aiming on more than 10,000 steps per day for the "dress size challenge" and 2x6 hour walks Brilliant hot weather down in Leicestershire where I spent the weekend did loads of walking although on the flat mostly but really usefull to see how more hours felt.  Feels good!!  Hopefully stick to all challenges this week and raise a bit more in sponsorship

The London Triathalon went well last week and I have heard that Gareth and Emma raised over £350 towards my goal  Will be entering it on to my thermometer reading during the week!  Well done and thanks to both of you, that is some challenge to have overcome and for the Children's Adventure Farm Trust funds too. Thanks

Hola a mis amigos en espana!!  Muchos besos por sus visita a mi pagina!!

"Taster session" at The Bowmen of Warrington club to share the profits with CAFT and have a go at "bows and arrows" !!  We all enjoyed it and our spirits where not dampened especially when we were wrapped around a cuppa and a slice of cake!!

My other event in June raised £245 and introduced my village to Argentinean tango!!  We made use of our local village hall and dancers came from all over the north west even as far as from Shropshire. for our "charity milonga".  Word has it that I am likely to repeat the event in the not too distant future so I may be up for yet another challenge.

My job is rather busy at the moment but I am hoping to get small change from colleagues as we prepare to move offices - co-ordinated by myself. With almost 200 folks moving I am sure that emptying desks, draws and pin trays will bring quite a lot of coins out, so I am going to "claim" the cash!!!  Yes and we made nearly £9 out of desks!!

This weekend 4th July saw us at Croft Carnival selling books and raffling lifeboat stations for an Indian lunch for two We were soooo busy and raised over £100.

With the 80% mark passed its downhill now and more practice walking I think!!  The sponsor forms are going to out during mid-July to mid-August especially around paydays and then maybe another charity milonga? who knows!!

Just back from 10 days in Spain on the Costa Blanca making practice walking and fitness my goal now that there are only about 6 weeks left until the Caper! I had been advised by an expert(!!) about getting some walking in the heat and certainly, I was able to do that with the temperature mostly above 30 degrees all the time I was there.  I climbed, cycled, walked and swam and enjoyed every minute I even did a bit of practice diving to ensure I can make the most of the waterfalls and creeks when I am in the Canyon.  As I have been very busy with work and fundraising I was concerned that my fitness may have been slipping so this was just what I needed.  Back to the English countryside this weekend for my walking; chasing folks with my sponsor form and thinking of another dress down day and raffle or coffee morning at the office.....   Time is flying!!
