My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Many young and newly qualified doctors in Uganda aspire to specialist qualifications, but these are often beyond their grasp. Cairdeas helps in two ways. Firstly the expertise within the team means that we can give considerable help and support, including references, to help local doctors apply for international scholarship funding. We have already done this successfully for one doctor who is currently on a scholarship funded PhD course with the University of Edinburgh. We have also awarded scholarships to two nurses to enable them to take the Diploma in Palliative Care at Makerere University and Mulago Hospital.
We want to continue to fund professional development in this way, so we have laucnhed our Scholarship Fund. Although our initial target is £5000, there is almost no limit to the need and all money received will be used to help enable healthcare workers to train in palliative care in a developing world setting.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
