After dutifully stepping in to replace an injured athlete, I've been asked at the last minute to run the London Marathon for One World Action, which means I have two months to train to run 26 miles. It also means that I have only two months in which to raise the required donation of £750 and I need your help!
So whilst I'll spend March and April getting up at unsociable hours to run around in the cold, all you have to do is dig deep and sponsor me!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: One World Action gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation - at no cost to you!
Your sponsorship will certainly give me a much-needed boost during those early morning sessions.....
Just to let you know a bit about the cause you'll be supporting....One World Action works with local people around the world to support their goals, ensuring marginalised people have a direct voice in the decisions that shape their lives. They work with communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America - women workers in India, disabled women in Nicaragua, Dalits outcast in Bangladesh and people living with HIV/AIDS in Malawi. They advocate in the UK andEurope for better international policies on aid and trade, working both “here” and “there” to create real and lasting change. They especially promote women’s political participation (which is probably why Marie got involved) and believe development is not possible if half of the world is excluded from decision-making.
