In April this year, a group of us from BT (S'pore & HK) will be building homes for Cambodia families. The Cambodian families have themselves saved money over a few years to buy the land and some of the building material. The rest of fthe funds and materials to build and complete the homes will be raised by volunteer groups like ours. We are raising at least 12,500 GBP (or Sing $20,000 - HK$100,000 - US$17,200) for the materials and we are also going to build 16 houses over 2 days.
As volunteers, we are covering our own travel and accommodation costs, but we are calling out to our families, friends and colleagues to help us raise funds for the building materials for the houses and awareness for this House Building Project in Cambodia that is run by the Tabitha Foundation. As part of this fund raising exercise, I am doing a 20 km cycle on 22 Feb 2009 and would be very pleased if you would sponsor me (and pray for me too) for this bicycle ride event. Tabitha Foundation
Since 1994 the Tabitha Foundation has worked with over 500,000 Cambodian people in the poorest communities in the country. Tabitha's philosophy of self-help is designed to promote self sufficiency and dignity through savings, counselling, and goal-setting programmes.
In ten years the Tabitha Foundation has seen well over 2000 houses constructed by a total of over 5,000 volunteers.
Plese do read more and support this worthy cause, and our team and I in building these 16 homes.
No Donation is too small or too large....
Just scroll down to the bottom of the page and use the "Sponsor Us Now" link - it'll only take a few minutes.
