Hey!

Thanks for visiting my fund-raising page. After a year of daring, pushing, and evil persuasion tactics my little bro Freddie (who is a qualified skydiver/adrenaline junkie) has finally convinced me to do a skydive for Bottletop.

I started Bottletop in 2002 after I taught sex education in Uganda during my gap year.  I had an amazing time and was blown away by how the kids (although they were not much younger than me and a few were older!)  took on board the information.

We tried to make our sessions as creative, interactive and generally as fun as possible and although it was a long, slow and sometimes painful process, I believe in most cases the messages really hit home.

60% of new HIV infections happen amongst young people and worldwide over 80% of young men and women aged 15 - 24 don't know how HIV is transmitted. Pretty scary. This means that unsafe sex is now the second biggest risk factor leading to disability or death in the poorest communities. There is so much work to do, both at home and abroad...

However, there are amazing projects happening all over the world and through Bottletop we have incredible programs that we support in Malawi, Rwanda, Brazil and here in the UK. We tackle this issue in a way which is meaningful for young people and we help them gain the skills to avoid other STD's, unplanned pregnancies and get on with their lives as we all want to.

This is the first time I've done a skydive and its putting it mildly to say that Im terrified and hate Fred for putting the idea in my mind... but there you go. On Saturday 27th September...chocs away!!
