The Polar Bear Plunge has been a long-standing tradition supporting Catholic education for the families of Mater Dei Catholic School. For the past 14 years, our school community has participated in the Polar Bear Plunge. There were 8 original Polar Bear Plungers who began this tradition in 2009, and our brave plungers quickly grew to a team of over 100 members. In 2013, the parents, faculty, and students gathered on the Sea Isle City beach to celebrate the Polar Bear Plunge for the first time as Mater Dei Catholic School.

Sea Isle City is no longer hosting the Plunge, so Mater Dei is celebrating this tradition in a new way. We are hosting the Polar Plunge Fest 2022 on Sunday, February 20th. Polar Plunge Fest 2022 will begin with Mass at 11:00 at Saint Stanislaus Church, followed by an afternoon of winter fun for all in the Mater Dei schoolyard.

As we celebrate Mater Dei's 10th Anniversary, we are reminded that both tradition and change have served Catholic education well and promise a bright future for our 569 children at both our Lansdale and Hatfield campuses. We are so blessed to continue sharing our mission of Faith, Excellence, Service, and Community with so many children, and we are most grateful to all who support Catholic education at Mater Dei...past, present, and future!

Polar Plunge Fest 2022 and the tradition of the Polar Plunge continues now, and we are asking you to consider supporting our students with your warm-hearted donations. Our goal is to raise $50,000 for Mater Dei Catholic School. To reach this goal, we will sponsor a Mater Dei Video Challenge featuring the smiling faces of the children in Pre-K through Grade 8.
