Story

Imagine being six years old and you are excitedly waiting for a visit from Father Christmas. Youve been dreaming of that special gift all year and cant wait till the 25th to see if youre on the nice list

Imagine youre a parent to three children who are frantically decorating the Christmas tree and arguing over whos turn it is to put the star at the top of the tree

Imagine that you are 83 years old and youre making mince pies with the smell of fresh baking wafting through the house, waiting for the grandchildren and great grandchildren to visit?...........

Imagine all of those Moments of Magic!

Now imagine that youre in hospital at Christmas

Christmas in hospital can be a very difficult time for our patients and their families and loved ones. Our dedicated, hardworking staff give up time with their own families to continue to provide excellent standards of care throughout the festive season.

This Christmas will be particularly difficult due to the challenges of Covid-19. Restrictions on visiting and Christmas present donations have had to be introduced by the Trust to keep everyone safe.

Please help us to provide Moments of Magic for our patients, their families and staff throughout the festive season and into 2021.

However you are able to support us, all of your donations will help us to provide the following...

£5 could purchase activity books and pens to help entertain dialysis patients while they receive their weekly treatment

£8.40 could purchase two patient comfort packs with everything they might need during their hospital stay such as toiletries, ear plugs to get a good nights sleep and special anti-slip socks

£10 could purchase a set of PJs for one of our patients on the Childrens ward, so that they do not have to wear uncomfortable hospital gowns whilst awaiting treatment

£25 could purchase head scarves and wig caps for patients receiving chemotherapy so they are less self-conscious

£50 could purchase additional snacks for a ward of patients with dementia, particularly those with eating or swallowing difficulties

£75 could purchase a fridge to store cold drinks for staff on ICU, to hydrate them while theyre working in full PPE

£100 could provide a stereo system for patients to listen to during radiotherapy

£500 could purchase three months of gym sessions for stroke patients to help aid their recovery
