Story

A medical school has long been an aspiration for Kent and Medway, and in 2020 with the opening of the Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS), we are pleased that this will become a reality.

Our ambition is to be a beacon for first-class medical education and research, and the first choice for all those aspiring to achieve excellence in person-centred medical care in the UK.

We will work in partnership with the NHS throughout Kent and Medway and we seek to enable aspiring doctors from all backgrounds to achieve their goals.

Our hope is that our students, once qualified, will choose to remain working in Kent and Medway which will, in turn, help address the healthcare inequalities in our area.

We ask you to help us to:

* transform healthcare in Kent and Medway

* train 100 talented individuals (per year), from a variety of backgrounds, to be the clinicians of the future. By offering support to students we will ensure that financial hardship does not hinder gifted young people in fulfilling their potential and achieving their dreams

* teach tomorrow's doctors and lead gifted clinical scientists in ground breaking research by attracting and recruiting the most inspiring and dedicated medical professionals to join our School

And to deliver this in:

* technologically advanced state-of-the-art facilities that will ensure that our students are at the cutting edge of medical innovation.
