Story
The festive season can be especially difficult for those who are coping with a loss.
The Thomas Theyer Foundation Lake of Lights is an opportunity to remember a loved one lost at what can be a difficult time of the year for many people. The Lake of Lights is an evening for reflection and remembrance. This is a gentle and supportive event for the community.
Battery tea lights will be placed on floats, which are then floated on the Boating Lake. Buxton Community Choir will sing at the start of the event and a laser light show with atmospheric music will take place as the lights are floated.
Starting at 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the Boating Lake, Pavilion Gardens, Buxton, Derbyshire, SK17 6BE. Lights can be collected between 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm, please arrive in plenty of time to collect your light.
Minimum donation of £10. Please make sure you have stated your name and included your email address and we encourage everyone to make a dedication. Some of the dedications will be read out on the evening.
If you are unable to attend the event but would still like your light to be floated, please contact: admin@thomastheyerfoundation.org.uk.
