Story

We did it! We've donated more than 1.1 million meals to families in need! Thank you for your generous support!

The Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies: Farm Bureau Insurance, Michigan Farm Bureau and the Agent Charitable Fund, are launching the Million Meal Challenge in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which closed all Michigan schools, leaving nearly 357,000 children hungry. The challenge is an opportunity for every person who is part of our family, our agents, members, insureds, and staff, to come together to support each other through uncertain times. The Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies is a Michigan company dedicated to providing for and protecting Michigan residents. For over 100 years the members of Farm Bureau have provided fresh food to residents of this great state.

The Agent Charitable Fund and Farm Bureau Insurance have each donated $50,000 to the challenge! They will match up to $50,000 in additional donations from our members, clients and supporters. Knowing every dollar equates to six meals, with your help, we can donate more than one million meals to Michigan families in need now and in the months to come.

Michigan Farm Bureau has been providing healthy food for more than 100 years and we will continue to feed our Michigan families during this time. Please consider supporting our efforts to combat hunger during this pandemic. You gift of any size will help amplify our efforts to reduce food insecurity and fear during this time of uncertainty.

About the charity

The Michigan Foundation for Agriculture supports educational efforts, leadership development and the cultivation of young leaders through numerous efforts at the local and state levels. We work to connect consumers with their food by helping youth and adults understand farming practices and how food makes transitions from the farm gate to the plate. We also strive to provide agriculturally invested folks with accurate and helpful information as well as resources.
