Story

Many of our most vulnerable students are struggling to cope, which is why we have launched this appeal to support students most in need through our Hardship Fund. The (Covid-19) Hardship Fund has been created to provide support for unforeseen costs, primarily subsistence and living costs; rent and accommodation for those who cannot travel home; support for those losing part time employment; and those with no access to IT equipment to enable remote learning.

Donating to the Northumbria University Covid-19 Hardship Fund will provide our students with security and enable them to continue to learn and invest in their futures.

You'll be helping students like Tim*. Tim lives with his parents in Gateshead- UK. His family don't own a computer and cant afford to buy Tim a laptop, leaving him unable to continue his studies.

You'll be helping students like Sarat*. Sarat was unable to return home to Agra - India, where his father recently lost his job due to the crisis. Facing costs he hadn't budgeted for, Sarat is unable to pay for food or rent.
