Story

Thank you for supporting our Northamptonshire Welcome Fund. As Northamptonshire prepares to welcome refugees escaping the war in Ukraine, the Community Foundation is encouraging donations to the Welcome Fund.

We previously launched the appeal to support the resettlement of Afghan families and other refugees successful raising and quickly distributing £23,513.70 to local charities and community groups working directly with Afghan refugees including Northamptonshire Emergency Response Corps and Northampton Town of Sanctuary. We received generous donations from the public and local donors including Archways Estate Agents and Barratt Homes. The funding enabled community groups and charities to provide direct and broad range of assistance and support, from the provision of essential items to family and social support.

We have re-launched the appeal as we want to ensure community groups and charities preparing to welcome Ukrainian refugees have access to funds and resources to ensure families and individuals fleeing the conflict and violence are made to feel welcome, safe and well and additionally to continue supporting existing refugees within our communities to feel welcome.

This appeal provides a single point for collection of donations from individuals, families, businesses, charitable trusts and other organisations wishing to support refugees and asylum seekers. The Fund assists the coordination of efforts in support of people in need.

Funds will be distributed to local groups and organisations providing a broad range of assistance and support, from the provision of essential items to family support and community integration.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
