Fresh Start's 10th Annual Sponsored Walk will take place on Friday 26th May. The Walk takes in an 8-mile scenic route through Edinburgh ending at our Food Station at Harrison Park for a well-deserved lunch. Money raised from the Walk will go directly to help fund our Services. These Services help people who have experienced homelessness settle into a new home and back into their community.

Homelessness can have a devastating effect. It not only means losing all your belongings and being left with nothing, but it can also mean losing your confidence and self-esteem. When given the keys for a new tenancy, it can seem like a dream come true, but a dream that can quickly turn into a nightmare when faced with an empty shell, bare floorboards and dirty walls.

Fresh Start can help by providing Starter Packs of everyday goods - the things we take for granted - cutlery, crockery, cleaning products, electrical items, curtains, bedding, and pots & pans. Our volunteers will help clients decorate up to two rooms, providing a support that helps build confidence. Our cooking classes help clients to cook healthy meals on a budget, and there is an opportunity to volunteer in one of our Growing Spaces.

Taking part in our Walk or sponsoring our staff team will help fund our Services. A Starter Packs costs approximately £15; an Electrical Pack with toaster, lamp and kettle £20; or £50 would buy paint to transform an empty shell into a home. Your help will really make a difference to someone's life.
