Story
Would you consider making a donation to fund an adventure for a learning disabled teen during the school holidays?
Imagine. You’re a teenager and it’s nearly the summer holidays. You're full of excitement- looking forward to adventures, new experiences and spending time with your friends.
But for a teen with learning disabilities, these things are often out of reach. Getting together with their mates might take so much planning that it rarely happens- and they will need extra support to make new experiences and adventures a reality.
This is where the Lifeworks Holiday Project comes in.
We provide programmes of activities during the school holidays for learning disabled young people aged 12 – 17- offering fun, friends and new experiences.
A week with the Holiday Project can mean so much to the young people who attend – helping them to develop skills and friendships that last far beyond the boundaries of the school holidays.
This isn’t about wanting the extraordinary. It’s about living an ordinary teenage life.
How can you help? We need to raise funds to provide the activities that form the backbone of the Lifeworks Holiday Project.
The young people take part in film and music making, art sessions, drama, photography, sports, cookery, nature trails and trips away- to name but a few of the activities that make the Holiday Project so exciting.
The activities offer young people the chance to develop key skills like socialising, personal safety and healthy living – and most importantly, are packed full of fun.
Activities cost an average of £50 per young person per day. We currently run 40 days of the Holiday Project over the year, and host 12 to 15 young people each day.
A £50 donation would pay for a day of activities for one learning disabled young person on the Lifeworks Holiday Project

Thank you so much for your support.
