Story
You will most likely be aware that the annual rough sleeping figures for London, published last summer, showed that more than 8,000 people slept rough across our Capital last year.
What you may not be aware of is that some 46% of these rough sleepers suffer from poor mental health. Roughsleeping is already a desperate situation causing people to feel isolated and alone; adding poor mental health adds a confusion that makes it near impossible to get effective treatment and so causes people to become deeply entrenched.
Thames Reach’s outreach teams work in partnership with specialist mental health services to get the right support and treatment at a time and a place that suits them, enabling them to make the right choices and get their lives back on track.
