Dear Friend,
In June 2007 my Mother passed away at the Florence Nightingale Hospice, Stoke Mandeville from terminal breast cancer after having been diagnosed in November 2006. She battled an undignified illness with such bravery, even though it eventually ate its way into every part of her. In June 2007 she was admitted to the hospice as her life’s journey was at its end. The nurses and staff at the hospice were very supportive to both my Mother and my family and she passed away with dignity. My family and her friends can not thank the hospice enough for making the last week of her life a comfortable one.
To show my gratitude and thanks for the dedication and compassion given to my Mother and my family by the Florence Nightingale Hospice, I now want to re-pay their efforts by raising as much money as possible to help provide palliative care for the community local to the hospice.
CANCER SELL has now been set up to raise funds by holding an art exhibition and sale at a topEast Londongallery. Cancer Sell has asked urban street artists to donate their work to sell at the event. Guests at the event will go home with a goody bag (on a first come first served basis) filled with stickers, buttons, sweets and a one off zine created by Mjar! The exhibition will also have satellite events taking place where visiting artists will draw on a doodle board live, a top DJ will be spinning tunes, there will also be an exclusive customised vinyl toy raffle and ladies, or gents for that matter, can be pampered by indulging in a manicure by one of our top sponsors, Mavala.
Cancer Sell was officially launched on January 19th and has been overwhelmed by donations globally to help our cause. We have already received a limited print from Copyright and sketches from The Krah to start the ball rolling and there have been donations from exclusive art collections with working being created by Stef, Beautifully Urb*n and James Cauty . We are also pleased to announce that we have received written confirmations by Jeff Aerosol, Blam, Kreibel, Pure Evil, Rosie Emerson and Snub who will be donating their artwork to help Cancer Sell fundraise. Cancer Sell will be working hard over the next few months to organise the art exhibition event and further information can be obtained by any of the following methods:
