The Cape to Cape Grand Tour for old cars is  organised by Dennis Greenslade for the Macmillans Cancer team in Cornwall . ( see http://www.justgiving.com/capetocape2013 for a great description of the event )

In the last 9 years the event has raised £471,750 .

The entry is limited to 40 cars which will cover about 1,500 miles from Cascais in Portugal to Falmouth in Cornwall.

Martin has entered 3 earlier Cape to Capes with Richard Gibbins in his Austin1,000 pick up. These events went from the extreme capes of Scotland , Ireland and Spain back to Cornwall . A picture of Richards car is included in the pictures.

This year Richard has entered again with Hugh Marriage so we have a friendly competition to raise money for Macmillans and to see who is better at following the correct routes .

Hugh has experience as he drove his Morris 1000 from Paris to Peking.

Nigel , my brother Gordon and I were born petrolheads . We also share a Maxwell AB made in 1911 which is in our pictures.

Macmillans were the support that my Dad needed when he was dying and have been brilliant for Nigel and so many people that we know. We would be surprised if you do not know people who have been helped by Macmillans.
