Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In October I will be taking part in the "China Challenge" for the Fostering Network over a ten day period. There is a group of 30, inlcuding myself, who will be trekking the great wall of China to raise money for this very worthy cause. In order to do this I will first need improve my fitness levels (grealty), and am about to embark on a 16 week fitness programme!
As many of you will already know I have been a foster carer for four years now, during which time we have seen the valuable work of the fostering network. Fostering is by large an enjoyable and rewarding experiance, however it does come with its challenges and can be extremely demanding. It is not always easy and the fostering network provides support in many ways, when you need it most. It works to improve the care of children in care and also works hard to support foster carers.
I am embarking on this challenge not only to raise money for this worthy cause, but to also raise awareness of fostering and remind everyone of the children within all communities than need help and support which they do not always receive from their families. It is all of our responsibilities to make sure that these children are kept safe and recieve the help they need.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please donate any amount you can and I would also really appreciate help with organising additional events to raise money! Laura is arranging most of the fundraising so if anyone has any ideas please email Laura with your ideas at l.hares@btinternet.com. We are also hoping to arrange a promise auction and a summer ball. Please let us know if you have any "promises" to offer.
Thank you
Carl Hares
