Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Ava was Emily's Stagecoach Principal Natasha Clarke's little Girl.
Ava was born with a genetic disease called methylmalonic acidaemia (MMA). This condition meant that baby Ava was unable to breakdown protein and thus the protein in the milk was poisoning her whole body.
Ava sadly died at just six days old
Following Ava's death, Natasha and Grant have set up the Ava Clarke Foundation in her memory to raise money for children affected by life-limiting inherited genetic disorders.
The Ava Clarke Foundation and The Evelina Children’s Hospital Appeal are joining forces to raise over £200,000 for a next generation tandem mass spectrometer, which will be the first of its kind in the UK and in the NHS. This sensitive machine will diagnose a range of genetic disorders on a single blood sample within 10 minutes – enhancing the child’s chance of survival.
