Having raised £100 offline (which I am really chuffed about) I thought I would set up a page to let people, further afield, know what I am up to. Please only sponsor if you want to
- I know people can get overwhelmed with the number of people asking them for sponsors - I understand you can't do it for everyone!
I decided quite a few months back now, or was rather persuaded by a friend (thanks Dan!) to run the half marathon. I know 13 miles might not seem a long way to a lot of people, but for a lot of us it is!!! I had never really thought about running in a distance race for personal achievement (although having started training it does give you an awful lot of satisfaction when you drop with exhaustion on your doorstep!) but then I got into my mind to run the race for Ellie's Haven.
It is a charity I work a lot with through my journalism work and having met Ellie's parents, Julie and Nigel, and speak to them on a regular basis about the charity I would really like to see them achieve their goal of building a holiday haven for children with life limiting illnesses, on the outskirts of Looe - Cornwall!
With a month to go I have managed two eight mile runs - and I hope to take that up to ten before the event.
Please let me know if you would like to know more about the charity - or you can visit http://www.ellies-haven.org.uk/
Thanks for taking time out to read this.
