Asics Reading Half Marathon 2009 · 27 September 2008

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I am so happy.  I have run my first half-marathon, and did it in a time half an hour quicker than I expected (and a hell of a lot quicker than I ever managed in training).  As I type, it's nine hours since I crossed the finish line and I feel like my kneecaps have been attacked by some thug with a golf club.

It's bearable, though, because of all the fantastic money you've helped me to raise for the Alzheimer's Society again.  You wonderful people have now helped me to raise over £3,000 in the last 18 months and if you can find an extra pound or two to boost the total even further, I'd really appreciate it.

If you don't want to sponsor me online, you can send a cheque payable to the Alzheimer's Society to me by post - email or ring if you don't have my address.

Thanks so much for your support!
