I'm running the Bath Half Marathon in March 2010.

This is a pretty big deal, because I am really, really not a runner. You all know this...

I'm dragging myself round 13 miles of beautiful Georgian architecture to raise money for Dorothy House Hospice Care. They provided excellent respite care for a very good friend of our family, who sadly passed away earlier this year.

I'm also running in memory of my Grandad, who we lost to cancer almost exactly year ago now. Thankfully, he never had need of a hospice, but thousands of others do, and Dorothy House are doing a great job of helping them.

DONATIONS:

I know we all get asked for sponsorship fairly frequently these days, and that we're all starving, unemployed graduates in the middle of a recession etc etc. Just to let everyone know that I totally understand and really won't be offended in anyway if it's a stretch too far.

That said :) If everyone gave me just £1 - factoring in the gift aid that dear Mr. Brown will add to it - I'd be well on my way to reaching my target of £200... It only takes a second to donate, and I even made it so that my page won't show how much you donated - so you honestly, honestly don't have to worry about looking stingy for donating a quid :)

I can also guarantee that this will be the first and last time I ever put myself through this hell - I won't ever ask for this again!

PS - My Grandad wrote down (and recorded himself reading) his absolutely incredible war stories before he died. They're amazing. He was a member of Bomber Command, shot down over enemy lines and taken to the same POW camp that the Great Escape happened in. He got rescued by Russian Cossacks on horseback with SWORDS. His stories are a fantastic insight into everything that his generation did for us. Plodding 13 miles round town pales in comparison (however hard I find it!) Donate a quid or so to my running fund and I'll be happy to send you a copy / cd. The more people that hear his story the better.
