The Separated Child Foundation helps young refugees in the UK who have become separated from their parents and close family. We offer emotional, social and practical support to separated children and engage in educational activities to raise broader awareness of their needs.

Story

In memory of my dear friend Ester, the Separated Child Foundation (www.separatedchild.org) was set up to help destitue, child, asylum seekers and refugees. They offer practical and emotional support to children who have, quite literally, nothing - no family, no basic items such as clothes, soap etc, let alone any suitable accomodation. It also advocates on behalf of this marginalised group in order to get their voices heard.

So, to support this, I am getting my rusty bike out of the shed and setting myself a cycling challenge! I'm planning to cycle from my house to Dam Flask (a reservoir), all the way around it then back again. All in all, about 13-14 miles. If my bike packs up before then (very possible!) I will do the same distance in the gym!

It may not seem like miles to you, but believe me when I say I have some work to do to get out there! For a start, my confidence on the roads and hills in sheffield needs to  improve, as does my fitness levels!!

So please, dip in to your pockets and help support me with raising money for the SCF!!!

Many many thanks!! Cat x x
