My story

Thanks for visiting our 2008 fundraising page.  Our events were the Malmesbury Triathlon on 24th August and the Warwick Triathlon on 28th September.

Congratulations -  we raised over £ 5000 incl Gift Aid -  a fantastic total.

This page is now closed for donations, but we have more events planned for 2009.  Please visit http://www.justgiving.com/ccsadoption/raisemoney to find 2009 CCS Triathletes fundraising pages or our website at http://www.ccstriathletes.org.uk. We welcome new participants !

Update 28th Sept: We did it !  Despite a weather-delayed start we all completed our triathlons.  Congratulations everyone - a lovely sunny day eventually.  Please do still sponsor us - thankyou !

Update 27th Sept: It's the day before the Warwick Triathlon.  Good luck to everyone - we have a record 13 taking part.  We now have over £ 3000 - thankyou - let's keep it coming in for CCS Adoption.

Update 25th Aug: Congratulations to all from our group who entered the Malmesbury Tri - everyone completed it.  A great day with friendly atmosphere and not too much rain.  Please keep the sponsorship rolling in - thanks very much.  Bring on the pantomime cow !

Update 23rd Aug: Tomorrow is the Malmesbury Triathlon, and we seem to have picked up all the injuries: dodgy arms, back, legs, you name it.  However everyone is determined to take part and finish.  Good luck !

Update 17th Aug:  Just one week to go till our first event at Malmesbury on 24th August, so everyone doing this event is doing final training and preparing.   We need to raise as much as possible for the CCS kids, so anything you can donate is very gratefully received - thanks !

Main text:

Many children in the U.K. are placed in care and are waiting for adoption. Whilst the recognised best option is for these children to stay with their family of origin, this is not always possible, and so new, adoptive parents are sought.  Until these children are placed for adoption, their lives are in limbo.  These children will not have had the things in life that most of us take for granted.  Through no fault of their own, their early years may have been very difficult and uncertain. They surely deserve the chances that we have in life, in a stable family background.

The aim of CCS Adoption (www.ccsadoption.org) is to offer the opportunity of family life through adoption and to support parents, adopters and children throughout the process, recognising the lifelong impact of adoption.  They help prospective adopters through the training and assessment that is necessary to become a “new mummy or daddy”.  They support the new families in every way possible.  They also help raise awareness about adoption and encourage people to think about  adoptive parenthood.  These people are the best – CCS help children live happier, more stable lives than they might have hoped.  Our support can really help them help others as much as possible.

A group of us have got together to do either the Malmesbury or Warwick Triathlon events, and get sponsored for CCS.  Some will do the full event, some will do it as a relay, but everyone is tackling something they haven’t done before, and amongst the demands of everyday life – work, kids, bills, this has captured our imagination and inspired us to help this cause.

Please help us raise money for CCS.  Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: CCS will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, around 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.  If you’d like to give “offline”,  please get in touch with us direct – see details below.

So please sponsor us now! Many thanks for your support.
