China Children and Teenagers’ Fund is a registered UK charity and the first operational charity established outside of China, by China’s oldest charity China Children & Teenagers’ Fund (CCTF). CCTF supports disadvantaged children in China in the neediest places and helps fight poverty and disease, improve health care and give economic and cultural opportunity to children and young people through extraordinary education and social enterprise projects. CCTF is a first port of call for international agencies seeking to support charitable projects or disaster relief in China.
CCTF China was established in 1981 as an independent non-profit voluntary association entirely funded from private and corporate donations. CCTF operates under the governance of the All-China Women's Federation and the supervision of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the PRC. CCTF is a strong organisation capable of delivering projects on the ground in China. With a revenue of £8.7 in 2007 (mainly from fund-raising in China) expenditure on projects of over £6 million and with running costs at below 4% of total funds raised CCTF is an efficient and well managed charity well worthy of your support.
CCTF follows stringent standards of governance in managing its revenue and expenditure and its accounts in China are audited by Ernst & Young while CCTF in the UK has appointed Kingston Smith the UK firm as its auditors. Kingston Smith are consistently ranked the UK’s “Number One” charity auditor.

HELP US TO REBUILD COMMUNITY SCHOOLS!
In Dujiangyan, the city that neighbors the epicenter of Wenchuan county, Szechwan, 1,000 children of Juyuan Middle School were feared buried in the quake. By Wednesday only one girl has been recovered alive. A tearful mother said her son, third-grader Zhang Chengwei, was buried in the ruins. "Some had jumped out of the window and a few ran down the stairs that did not collapse."
Two girls said they escaped because they had "run faster than others." Grieving parents watched on as five cranes were excavating at the site and ambulances stood waiting.
At least 200 school children were buried when two schools affiliated to a steam turbine factory in Hanwang Township of Mianzhu, 30 kilometers to the epicenter Wenchuan, toppled in the quake.
Several other schools have collapsed in Deyang City and Aba Prefecture, near the epicenter. An exact head count of casualties is not immediately available. Five primary school children were confirmed dead and more than 100 were injured when two schools toppled in Liangping County.
More than 1,000 students and teachers were dead or missing when the main building of Beichuan Middle School in Mianyang City collapsed. Beichuan is 160 kilometers northeast of the Wenchuan epicentre.
