Between 21 November and 3 December 2009, Simon and I will be joining around 60 people cycling from Panama City through Costa Rica to Nicaragua Lake as part of McMillan Cancer Support's Central America Cycling Challenge.  We will be cycling for 8 consecutive days and covering just over 680 km.  It promises to be an extremely testing physical challenge, cycling over undulating countryside and in all weathers.  The event, and the months of preparation and training, will be tough but we are doing this in order to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

This will be my second Macmillan cycle challenge and Simon's 6th.  We started raising money for Macmillan following the death of my Father, Roger Musgrave in February 1996.  His Macmillan nurse was fantastic and it made the whole family appreciate the value of their service which is totally funded through charitable donations.

Each and every day 739 people in the UK are told they have cancer.  Thanks to the support they receive from generous people like you, Macmillan is able to provide the practical and emotional support which makes a real difference to people living with cancer today - and tomorrow.

We have pledged to raise a minimum of £3,300 each to take part in the event, of which at least 65% will benefit Macmillan Cancer Support.  We hope to raise more than this and everything we raise over £6,600 will go 100% to Macmiillan.  We hope that you will consider sponsoring us in this challenge, which I am aware is a very minor one compared with the challenge that cancer patients face each day.
