Can you believe it, I'm running the London Marathon, I must be mad!
It all started after working in somebodies house and noticing a picture of them at the finish line with their medal. I thought "that looks like a good challange" so I entered to run the London Marathon 2006. Unfortunatly I didn't get accepted so I waited and entered the 2007 run. When I got my acceptance it was a kind of exciting, yet very terrifying feeling, that I now had to commit myself to running over 26 miles with only just over 4 months to train, and I haven't run since I left school! Thankfully my training is going to plan and currently on target.
The next challenge was for me to decide who I was going to run for, with there being so many worth while causes that require support. After a lot of consideration I decided to run for the Alzheimer's society. My grandad is a sufferer of the disease and my girlfriends grandma also had it, but has unfortunately passed away. I have experienced first hand what it is like to see someone you care for lose their ability to do certain tasks that we take forgranted, and with our help more research can be carried out into Alzheimer's disease.
I'm asking for people to sponsor me as much as they feel they would like to. If you know someone who has suffered from Alzheimer's then you will understand how distressing this can be for the families involved.
I hope you feel that this is a worthwhile cause and that you will be able to help me raise my £1000 target. Thanks once again, and spare a thought for me on the day, as well as all those cold evenings when I'm eagerly doing my training.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alzheimer's Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
