The Overland Chapati Express is an epic solo expedition to the four corners of India in under 20 days by sleeper-class train, on a budget of only £200 sterling, (possibly undertaken wearing a tweed suit.) I am doing this to raise funds for FRANK Water, a UK-based charity set up to provide clean water facilities in rural Indian villages.
in July 2010 I shall be travelling by train to the Easternmost, Southernmost, Westernmost, Northernmost, highest and lowest Indian railway stations, involving 19 almost back-to-back train trips in 20 days. I'll be contending with very little sleep, unbearable 40°C+ temperatures, monsoon rains, a dangerous lack of showering, toilets of questionable hygiene, dubiously prepared platform-food and thus near continuous Delhi-belly.
I will be filming the results of this mad-cap escapade in order to make a riveting documentary, and so I'm offering everyone who donates towards FRANK Water a 'thank you' credit at the end of the film, plus a free invitation to a screening of it when completed.
