THE SKYDIVE
on saturday 21st August 2010 the following people jumped out of the plane at brackley oxfordshire to raise money for the stroke association. they raised nearly £3000
Kieran fitzpatrick, Mikaila fitzpatrick, Terri Cottrell, Jordan Fox and finally last but no means least Vicki Brown.
well done to all you brave guys and gals. weather was not looking good, looked like we may be sent home but it turned out OK. and I think you all thoroughly enjoyed it even though you were all scared before hand.
well done for doing such an amazing thing for the charity. Every year an estimated 150,000 people in the UK have a stroke. Of all people who suffer from a stroke, about a third are likely to die within the first 10 days, about a third are likely to make a recovery within one month and about a third are likely to be left disabled and needing rehabilitation. Stroke has a greater disability impact than any other medical condition. A quarter of a million people are living with long-term disability as a result of stroke in the UK.
The Stroke Association is the only UK wide charity solely concerned with combating stroke in people of all ages. It funds research into prevention, treatment and better methods of rehabilitation, and helps stroke patients and their families directly through its Life After Stroke Services. These include Information, Advice and Support, Communication Support and Life After Stroke grants. They also campaign, educate and inform to increase knowledge of stroke at all levels of society, and they act as a voice for everyone affected by stroke. The link to the site is http://www.stroke.org.uk/index.html
So Dig in Deep and give generously, even a few pennies or a pound, every little helps and will make a difference.
Thanks for reading and taking interest, hope you donated too :-)
