Hi all, As many of you may well already know (due to my incessant moaning about blisters, sore feet, painful shins, achy knees etc, and occasional manic hyperactivity following a good long run) I am running the New York Marathon on 2nd November 2008! It is my first, and could well be my last, marathon, but I feel fit and ready and wish it were tomorrow! (mostly so that I could put the tick in the box and go back to sitting on my bum). I now have an intricate understanding of the anatomy of the lower limbs, in particular the foot (mine is flat, sub-optimal for endurance running), and have fully used up my NHS/BUPA quota for the year. If anyone needs a good physio/orthopeadic surgeon I've got some great recommendations (anything good enough for David Beckham/Wayne Rooney's feet is good enough for mine). Thanks to all those who've put up with me and supported me- I would have given up long ago without you. Also big thanks to Mum and Gem for coming out to New York as my cheerleading team- we'll have a great weekend! Sponsorship is greatly appreciated- I have no "target" as such as I entered independantly- all pennies will be going to a great cause. Many thanks in advance! Charlie
