Our beautiful daughter Charlotte was born on the 18th September 2008 with a serious heart defect (Right Atrial Isomerism) which was picked up during the routine Paediatric check prior to mother & baby leaving the Queen Mothers Hospital (Yorkhill). Charlotte was immediately transferred to the RHSC Yorkhill.

The staff at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children (Yorkhill) Cardiac Ward 5a not only looked after Charlotte, but they treated her with dignity and respect. In addition to the high level of care given to Charlotte, they helped us to come to terms and understand Charlotte's complex condition with both empathy and compassion.

We were lucky enough to be able to take Charlotte home and enjoyed a week of being a normal family with Charlotte being able to spend time with her big sister Katie as well as mummy and daddy. Unfortunately Charlotte's heart just wasn't strong enough and she passed away aged only 13 days. Charlotte was only with us for a short time but we are richer for loving and knowing her.

It is in loving memory of our beautiful daughter Charlotte and in recognition of the care and treatment that Yorkhill provides to children that are desperately ill, and the support given to families that we are asking you to give a donation, no matter how big or small, to Yorkhill Cardiac Ward 5a Fund via the Yorkhill Childrens Foundation.
