Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
We are running the London Marathon on 26th April 2009 to raise money for the Royal British Legion, the UK's leading charity providing financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served or who are currently serving in the British Armed Forces, and their dependants. The RBL relies on invididual donations from people like you, so please give generously!
THE TEAM:-
CHARLIE BANNER - This is my fifth London Marathon and I'm hoping to beat my personal best of 3hrs 14min. In order to morally blackmail you into sponsoring us despite the recession, two weeks before the marathon I shall be entering the Two Oceans Ultramarathon in Cape Town, a 36.5mile run across the Cape of Good Hope Reserve. Hopefully this double header will convince you to dig deep!
DAVID TAYLOR - This is my first London Marathon and I'm hoping to run it in under 4 hours. My sister achieved it in just under 4hrs 5 mins so there is an added incentive for me to run quicker! For all of you who have been in the forces you will know what a remarkable job they do at home and abroad and every little penny counts! I too am signing up for bigger things and am foolishly planning to run over 50 miles from London to Brighton in October so I hope you too can be persuaded to be generous!
We are already training hard in the freezing cold and an early boost to our sponsorship total would be a great incentive.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: the Royal British Legion will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
Charlie & David
