This page is dedicated to the memory of my sister Helen, who passed away recently. She lived her life full of compassion for others, and I know from afar she led me to the children of the mountain.
I recently visited the village district of Tandrang in remote Nepal and was overwhelmed by the hospitality and warmth shown by a community who had little more than the food grown on the steep slopes of their hills.I was compelled to respond to their need. When asked how I could help they replied " Build our children a school, the existing one is falling down" . So ,together, we are going to do just that!!
The fantastic team at DCWC have already built ten schools in Nepal, and have kindly agreed to build another for the children of the mountain. www.thechildrenofthemountain.com subject to funds received.
The above target will build a new primary and high school for 500 pupils. While, when asked to put a price on a 'brick" , I suggest a guideline of 25gbp ( $40) ( 150Dhs) ( 30 Euro), but it really does not matter how small your donation is, every penny, cent, or dirham you give will bring us one step closer to building a brighter future for the children.
If you doubt how much value and joy even the smallest donation can bring, just look at the faces of the children in the picture above, taken after a small donation of pencils and notebooks. Please help me keep them smiling, Help me raise funds until we can, brick by brick, make their dream a reality; lets together, build them their new school.
More pictures of the existing school and children can be seen at www.pbase.com/johnmatt
Thank you so much for your generosity and support.
John
