The official death toll is currently 69,019 but is estimated to reach over 80,000 in the coming days. Official missing 18,627. People injured 373,573.
4.7million homes were completely leveled. 5 million homeless, thats nearly half the population of Greater London.
The local Sichuan authorities URGENTLY need Medical Supplies and Tents. All other utilities and supplies returning to normal in most areas.

We have chosen the British Red Cross Earthquake Appeal as our charity appeal recipient as we feel they are one of a handful of charities with the experience and capabilities to send supplies to remote affected areas of a natural disaster very quickly funds permitting.
We are a group of 11 Lehman employees who came together and thought we should be doing more to help. Most have strong connections to the motherland.
To hasten our fundraising we will be running for charity within the Lehman contingent in the JPM Chase Corporate Challenge on the 9th of July 2008 in London, this might seem a trivial distance to most but believe you me 3.5miles is a long way to go if your legs are short, it will certainly feel like 7miles! We will be running and praying but happy in the knowledge we were doing it for good.
