My story
WHY: While researching my novel, Gold, I spent time at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. The science that Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research funds will create better outcomes for some of the children I met, so I'm riding for them.
WHAT: The London-Paris is on a par with events like the London and New York Marathons and was named by The Daily Telegraph as one of the world's top 25 participation events. I've been training very hard.
HOW: I'd be so grateful if you were able to donate to my charity. You can easily donate from any country, and research benefits people everywhere.
Leukaemia is beatable - 40 years ago, some 90% of childhood leukaemias were fatal. Now, 90% of children go into remission. What's made that difference is research, and with your generosity I'd like to help fund that research with every turn of the pedals.
Every cent you donate goes directly to the charity, which is a partnership between Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research and the inspiring Geoff Thomas Foundation. (The event organisers, HotChillee, are very generously providing my place in the event at no cost).

I reached the Eiffel Tower on 23rd June, along with 470 happy riders. Rode hard, made some good friends & enjoyed every minute. Our LLR team raised over £100,000 for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. Thank you all so much for your generous and important donations.
3 days until the start of London-Paris! Since Xmas I've trained for 235 hours on the bike, lost 8kg, made many new friends and experienced the lows of & and the highs of personal bests & group training rides. Now I'm as ready as I'll ever be. Thank you for all your support!
