Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Well - I did it, but only just, the London to Paris Cycle ride was by far one of the toughest challenges I have ever faced. 300 miles across rolling and sometimes very hilly country-side at a fast pace of around 18 mph. I was under trained and by no means fit enough but I did it to improve my health and more importantly raise money for the charity Debra. There were some wonderful people (semi- professionals) who encouraged me in the final miles to keep going despite the immense pain I was experiencing, there were laughs, (particularly when I had a problem with my bike, stopped to fix it, lost the group and then took the wrong turn and went 15 miles off course and had to hitch hike a lift in a truck to the ferry! - that was just day one) and some bad moments created by the pain, the weather and a very dodgy stomach - but when I saw the Eifel tower and the crowds cheering us in to Paris it all seemed worth it.
It is not to late too donate. I know there are endless sponsorship requests at this time of the year and times are hard but please give what you can to support this wonderful charity.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: DebRA gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now! Regards, Chris
