Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page. I ran my first ever marathon on Sunday 25th April, and it was an amazing day... I made it all the way to the finish without stopping (beating Richard Branson to the bargain) in a time of 4 hours 45 mins and the all-important 36 seconds! The time is now stuck to my fridge door as a memento....I had wonderful support from my family, from Jo, Geoff, Becca and Alex (happy birthday!) William, George, Mike and Una and think I hugged Darren's mum along the way at 22 miles somewhere.
An enormous thank you also to everyone who's sponsored me or donated money to the Children's Society so far - but it's not too late to make the total even bigger..... The Children's Society does some fantastic stuff with children on the margins and I'm grateful to them for giving me the chance to achieve one of my dreams, so please still give generously if you can...
Why did I do this? Because, like Everest, it was there. The crowds were awesome - it was a unique experience, a real red letter day! Plus, the medal is absolutely brilliant!
