Hi my name is Chris and thanks for visiting my fundraising page for Future For Nepal, UK registered charity number 1109371.

This summer I will taking part in a Durham University Charity Kommittee (DUCK) expedition to the Himalayas of Nepal. Primarily this trips aims to raise money to aid the work of Future For Nepal, a vitally important charity which endeavours to improve the standard of living for children in Nepal through increased educational opportunities, building projects and HIV awareness campaigns. Using the money that I, and the other expedition members raise, Future For Nepal will be able to fund a drop-in centre and half way home for 20 street children in Thamel, Kathmandu, as well as 5 grass-root community projects.

However during our stay in Nepal we aim to directly contribute to the work of Future For Nepal by completing a community programme which, for me, will involve teaching mathematics in a local Nepalese school and participating in building projects.

In order to take part in this extremely worthwhile trip I need to raise £1050 which will be donated directly to Future For Nepal. In order to reach this target I will be participating in a wide variety of fundraising activities, both sporting and otherwise. On the 5th April I ran in the Edinburgh Half Marathon which I successfully completed in a time of 1 hour 41 minutes. Watch this space for further information and developments!!!
