Story

Hi everyone! I did it!

Am very pleased with my time of 1hr58min though I am certainly feeling the pain now!

The race itself went well though there were times when I wondered why on earth I ever put myself through it! The difficult spots were 3 miles when I got an awful stitch that lasted about 2 miles and did consider giving up. Miles 4-7 were fairly good and me and Jen were making good time running 8.5miles. Miles 8-10 were where things started getting tough and our time for one of those miles was a snail-paced 10mins. Once we got past 10 and realised we had exactly 30min to do 3 miles if we were going to go under 2 hours we perked up a little and in the next 2 miles made up 2 mins. Then came the final mile, the most difficult psychological battle - one part of me was saying I can't do this anymore, what's the point anyway, you have still done amazingly, the other says - you will regret it forever if you stop now, just keep going for 10 more mins and that is it you never have to run again. Well by the time I had finished with this internal discussion I could see the finis line and so thought I may as well just carry on!

Thanks everyone for sponsoring me and feel free to give more!!

Hi all, thanks so much for getting this far in sponsoring me - nearly there!!

I am running/crawling 13.1 miles (21km) around central London in the Royal Parks half marathon to raise money for the Chornobyl Children's project which runs projects to support those poor kids still suffering from the nuclear disaster in Ukraine in 1986. There are thousands of orphaned children in desperate need of proper medical care and shockingly, as little as 2 weeks out of the affected regions can increase their life expectancies by 2 years.

Please sponsor me and it will motivate me to run faster!!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Chernobyl Children's Project (Uk) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
