My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have decided to embark on a life long ambition of running the London Marathon. Please read on and I hope you will be able to dig very very deep and help me raise money for such a good charity called "Alone in London". I would like to add at this point that I will be running this 12 days before I actually get married, so the huge fear is there already regarding "Will my toe nails survive, and will my dress still fit me on the day", haha.

For those of you that know me I can be quite lazy at times, but on the other extreme end of this I can be very committed which I think shines out already. I have set this page up on Saturday 16th July 2011 and have already started my training, one to get fit and two to get a smaller dress on my body in time for the wedding and what better way than to help a charity at the same time.

I will be running lots of different charity events during the next year and beyond to raise money and also to give you a chance to come out for a great night of eating and entertainment.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now, and thank you for supporting me and Alone in London.

If you would like to find out about my journey and how my training is going, just keep reading below, I try to update my facebook page every day with stories of my training, so will cut and paste across each time with new pictures as well. Enjoy readying

Days to go - 90, 90, 90, 90 .

Well tomorrow we go down to the eighties!

Today's running schedule started at a reasonable time today, just to ensure that Michael was ready for the session.

On Saturday night we decided to drive a car down to Shoebury to leave there over night so when I finished my run we had a fast mode of transport waiting for us.

Our route started at Snakes Lane, down past Tesco along to Priory Park, through the park and up Victoria Avenue to St Mary's church where we took a left hand turn along East Street, across into Stuart Road, right into Bournemouth Park Road, turning left into Branscombe Road(passing Sashas house) which leads into Trinity Road (passing our new house), then turned right into Hamstel Road, left at the White horse with a quicker pace down past Southend High for girls, then straight down Thorpe Hall Avenue, into Barnstaple Road (passing Kristies house), then turned right at the end, then left into Delaware Road until we hit the roundabout which then took us straight up to where my car was sitting waiting (THANK GOD)

I feel so happy with myself as out of the whole run I only stopped for probably 3 minutes overall, which is a great achievement for me.

I am so lucky that Michael is helping me with the training by dusting his bike off and joining me, even with dodgy handle bars.

We drove home and I prepared myself a nice 3 egg white omelette with wafer thin chicken and 20g low fat cheese, yum yum and what is great is that I can have 15ml of Ketchup for ZERO points...woo hoo.

After a much deserved shower we headed up to lakeside to get the boys their wedding suits, and success in the second shop, yay! nice TM Lewin suits for Michael and Scott today, with my dad getting his during the week, so just the little boys now to get.

Popped in to see Vic and Mark and now at home where dinner is cooking and I am actually enjoying a glass of wine with soda and ice, only about 75ml of wine, but looks and tastes good, and after burning 1067 calories think I can afford to have one small glass.

Had another donation arrive in my Just Giving page today from the lovely Kath all the way from Wales, so thank you Kath, it means so much to me for you to support me. xxxx

Days to go 92, 92, 92, 92 -

Well today started very early for me. I set my alarm to wake me up at 5.30am, so I could get up and do some work early, which lasted all of an hour before I had to grab another hour in bed. I drove round to Schofs and collected her ready to meet karina down at Chalkwell Beach….brrrrrr it was freezing down there. We set off from the kiosk behind the station, and headed in the direction of Southend, we jogged at an easy pace and made it up to the Pier with the wind blowing us in the right direction, but hey guess what…. It was tough tough tough o the way back, I reckon the wind was blowing at about 100mph, well slight exaggeration but its my blog and I can extend the truth slight haha. Schofs did really well being quite a way ahead, but kept turning round to regroup with us, it was hard though and have decided built up areas for me!

In total we run for 45.46mins

Burnt 555 calories (based on my weight and height)

Travelled 3.73miles in total

A great morning and it was nice to be able to speak while running, which so I am told is an achievement in itself.

Pictures below of the early morning runners and screen print off my MI coach.

Have a great day everyone and catch up tomorrow, I think a 7 mile run is on the cards, if I get up in time, as flower shopping with my mum tomorrow for the wedding. XXXX

Days to go, 93, 93, 93, 93 -

Short and sweet blog tonight.

Had a good PT session this morning with Lessa, then work work work all day, but in the luxury of my own home, then had a lovely night in with the girls, Vic, Sydney, Nat E and Nicky, watching inbetweeners.

Told you it would be short tonight, will have more to say tomorrow as heading out early for a run with schofs and karina along the seafront before work starts xxx

Days to go, 94, 94, 94, 94 -

Had a good day at work, but all day the thought of going to running club played heavy on my mind, so to take it away I looked for shoes for the four older bridesmaids and had a result with the final chosen pair. I could have joked with them all by showing them some gross ones me and Michael found online last night...haha...silent laughter there (just for you Sammy O)

Made a big mistake when I came home by laying out on the sofa for an hour as it took every bit of effort to drag my fat arse off the sofa and walk out the door, but not before a bit of stretching out, I just keep the title of my new book in my mind "RUN FAT B!TCH RUN"....

I headed down to Chalkwall Station. We warmed up for about 5 minutes tonight with Dean (running coach) and then off we set, 3 sets of 10 minutes running, with 2 min rest between each 10 mins, in total I did 2.90miles, in 33.29mins, burnt 427 calories which worked out an average of 11.33min miles. Now for all you number geeks out there, yes I know that 33.29 does not add up to 3 x 10 and 3 x 2, but I started my timer slightly later and must have run so fast at the end that I got back before the 10 minutes were up, in fact I probably run right up to the last 10 minutes to get me to the finish point.

How did I feel?? GREAT!!! and really pleased that I went and can certainly feel the benefit now from all this training! Yeah its working, its getting easier and I can breathe easier now.

I popped into Schofs on the way home for a quick photo, pasta dinner and catch up, lovely finish to my day.

Now heading off to relax in the bath before snooze time and then up early for Personal Training again tomorrow all before work.

Night Night Facebookers

Days to go, 95, 95, 95 and added extra of -3.5degrees outside....

I awoke to my alarms ringing in the ears at 5.30am, looked out the window to a gloss of ice on the ground and covering my car and decided,

a) it was too early and

b) yeah right look at that ice layer!

So I retired back to bed until a more sensible time of 7am.

I decided to do my training up the gym today as it was so very cold outside, I am not one to be in cold conditions, give my sunny florida any day!

Off I trott up to Virgin Active in Thundersley and attempt to check myself in on my iphone (just to prove I am really there) only to discover its trying to check me in around the Vange area!! Not impressed and nothing bad for those of you that live there, but a little out my way really.

Last night I created a new playlist on my phone as fed up with jogging along to something upbeat to be drwan down to a slow dance song! so no stop start stop start now changing the music, 4 pure hours of funky running tunes to tap along too, it was bliss, and all my favourite ones.

I set off to run a 5km but as my legs were getting looser I decided to carry on to 7Km (4.3949 miles) instead, see pictures below.

Now in work having lunch break which consisted of cooked salmon and rice and a hand fuill of mixed nuts yum yum.

Having a nice relax tonight with hubby to be before running club again tomorrow night, nervous.com, longer runs tomorrow.

Days to go, 96, 96, 96, 96 - donation beegging today xx

If you would like to make a small donation to my marathon charity pot, a few pounds from each friend would mean I could raise another £336, 168 friends on my facebook, the price of a small glass of wine, which I am sure if your coming to my wedding will be given back to you 10X over. Heres the simply link to click on and make a donation: www.justgiving.com/ circlesarahschofs

Just a quick update from today. Woke up nice and early to go for a run, went to the toilet and could hardly walk, my muscles had seized up BIG TIME!! not funny really, so had to suffer in pain until I went and had a nice sports massage on the calve muscles. Now feeling a lot better and waiting for my Personal Trainer to come over at 7.30pm to put me through 30 minutes of interval training on my stomach and arms, double ouch ouch..

Back up early tomorrow to try and give the legs another go.

Days to go, 97, 97, 97, 97 -

Well this will be my update from Saturday and Sunday as busy weekend just passed me by.

Alarm woke me up yesterday (saturday) at 7.30am, and I jumped out of bed after one snooze only, and off I go... a nice 6.01 miles in total taking 1hr 17 mins, now although I am happy I run that far I was not impressed with picking up Mollys poo twice and stopping every few minutes for her to wee, so its decided the little black fuffy one will no longer be my running partner. I headed out of Snakes Lane, along A127 up to Dawes Heath Road in Rayleigh and then travelled back along Eastwood Road Rayleigh into Rayleigh Road Eastwood..I know gets confusing with the same type of road names!

Picture below of my MI coach screen from my phone, an amazing 900 calories burnt off yesterday.

Then during the day Evans insisted on punishing me more by suggesting we go to Hockley Woods with all the kiddies and managed to squeeze a little more exercise out of me, mainly walking and a little sprint after the little ones.

SUNDAY - Woke up and weighed myself - get in there, 4 pounds off in one week!

Sunday was a rest day with wonderful friends, Schofs, Fenton, Jo and Craig came around for a feast from 1pm until 7pm for Schofs and 9pm for the knoxs, all day food, and the only thing that was healthy was the 2 point carrot and Coriander Soup and grapes, but after burning 900 calories yesterday I think I earned my roast lamb dinner plus extras.

Shattered.com now, so signing off for this weekend and will prepare myself for a 5 mile run at 5.30am tomorrow, think of me while your all dreaming away.

Alone in London

Charity Registration No. 1107432

Alone In London not only restores stability in the lives of vulnerable young people, who are homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless, but also commits considerable resources to a range of prevention programmes. Its projects raise awareness amongst school pupils of what homelessness is about, how to defuse conflict - the biggest cause of young people running away from home, and where they can get help if difficulties become too much. On average, each year, over 3,000 young people benefit from Alone In London's support and advice. <p> Alone in London is part of Circle Support - registered charity 1107432
