About the charity

The Civil Liberties Trust aims to promote and raise awareness of Human Rights in the UK, to advance the education of the public in the rights, liberties and duties of all citizens and public servants. It also provides specialist legal advice, assistance and representation to people who are unable to access it. Founded in 1963, the Trust works closely with the campaigning organisation Liberty choosing to pursue its objectives by mostly funding Liberty to carry out specific charitable activities.
