In a rare moment of conscience, we decided to sign up and do something for charity! Africa Bookcase-Gemini is a very worthwhile charity, helping to improve education throughout the world giving more children opportunities to learn.
We are undertaking a perilous car rally spanning 3 European countries – France, Spain and Portugal. However, this is no prestigious Gumball rally where we traverse the continent in a £250,000 sports car, we will be rumbling along in a clapped out, rusty £250 banger well into its 2nd decade!
Additionally, the route will be beset with challenges - along the way we’ll have to negotiate ridiculous café prices in La Rochelle, put up with vistas of endless blue seas in San Sebastien, the jagged and winding roads of Bordeaux’s wine region, the shimmering splendor of the desert on the way to Salamanca and the pearly white sands of Portugal’s Cabo da Roca beaches!
Will we pick up killer T-Shirt tans?
Will we misinterpret our SatNav’s Spanish Instructions and find ourselves in Berlin?
Will Eleanor, our trusty banger break down?
