We are competing in this years Plymouth-Dakar Challenge, driving an 18yr old VW Golf , (christened George!), all the way down through France, Spain, Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania and Mali, ending in the capital Bamako. When and if we and 'George' arrive in Bamako he is donated to Rotary International to be auctioned off with the proceeds used for local project such as education and water initiatives, we are however also using this oportunity to raise money for other charities.

We have chosen to raise money for Vision Aid Overseas as it is an organisation who work closely with the optical industry, and particulaly my employers Essilor. Vision Aid do fantastic work in providing eyecare in the poorest parts of the world, to people who would otherwise have no access to it. Any money we raise will go directly to funding further field trips and purchasing equipment, so please give generously.
