THE CHALLENGE
4 friends, 1 team, Europe's 2 highest mountains, 3 countries, 13 glaciers, 160km to cover and 17,500m of ascent and all in 13 days! A truly epic journey. (By comparison its only 3500m ascent from Everest Base Camp to the summit.)
THE BACKGROUND
Last summer Joe H and Ed ran up Ben Nevis for fun so this year when we decided to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust we wanted a more mountainous challenge. "How about we try to run across the alps?". So while we are at it we thought it would be wrong not to try to climb Europe's highest mountain, Mont Blanc, and then to climb Europe's second highest mountain at the other end in Switzerland, The Monte Rosa. Climb Commando was born.
Thank you for visiting the Climb Commando 2008 fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online. Which I'm sure will spur us on when we are training in the hills in the rain most weekends. And push us on up the next big incline while enroute to Zermatt.
As many of you will know my brother Matt suffers from Cystic Fibrosis. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Cystic Fibrosis Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor us now and pass this link to everyone you know!
Many thanks for your support.
