I am doing this climb in memory of a very special person & friend Ashley Masella, who sadly passed away 2 years ago from a very rare type of cancer called Angio Sarcoma, which is why I want to raise money for the Sarcoma Trust.
Ben & I will leave London for Kilimanjaro on 6th September 2009 which will also be Ashley's 2nd anniversary. I will be thinking of Ashley every step i take climbing up that mountain.
Ashley was an amazingly brave lady who battled cancer for 2 years. She was such a positive person, such a wonderful friend, a great mother to her angel Lyden & loving wife to Brian. She really was such an inspiration, I miss her loads & think of her all the time. It was Ashley's 30th birthday on Sunday 7th June so we had a drink for her! Happy Birthday Ashley!
Like I said before Angio Sarcoma is a very rare & aggressive type of cancer & a lot more research needs to be done, its a very worthwhile cause & we'd like to try & raise as much money as possible for them.
We have also started a second fundraising page to raise money for a children's charity in Tanzania called Kids AId Tanzania which help 100 orphaned & disabled kids. This is another very worth while charity & you can find this fundraising page here... http://www.justgiving.com/ben-clodagh-kilimanjaro
Ben & I are funding this trip ourselves & 100% of the sponsorship money goes direct to the charity. If you could sponsor us we would be ever so greatful...
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Sarcoma Trust gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thanks so much to everyone who has kindly sponsored us so far, thank you for your support. From Clodagh & Ben :)
